It’s a new year, and I’d like to encourage you to start this year in a way that you may not have started a new year before by making the soul your starting point for living.
I’m not meaning this as a ‘one-time’ thing, but as something ongoing. That you make the soul your starting point for living every day, every moment of every day this year.
This might sound really difficult to do. It might even seem impossible, but it’s not. It is possible, if you really want it.
What You’re Aiming For
What you’re aiming for is greater beauty and peace in your life, and less thinking, emotional reacting, and stress.
How to Start
The best way to start is to do more of the things that bring you the inner experience of beauty and peace, and less of the things that pull you away from that experience.
In order to do this, you need to know what brings you beauty and peace, but you also need to know what the experience is like so that you know what you’re choosing. In the same way, you need to know what pulls you away from beauty and peace so you can avoid that happening.
Then, whenever you realise that you’re in your mind, in a world of beliefs, thoughts and emotions, and you know it’s not what you want, seek beauty and peace instead.
There are many ways of seeking beauty and peace. It might be meditating, practicing yoga, spending time in nature, listening to music. It doesn’t matter what it is. The important thing is that you find out what works best for you.
You Can Do It
You can learn how to live life with the soul as your starting point. But don’t get stressed about achieving it. It’s not something you have to ‘get right’.
It’s a learning process. You’re learning to approach life in a new way, from beauty and peace, instead of from fear and pain. It takes time to make this transition, so allow yourself the time you need.
If you practice in an ongoing way, you’ll learn many things, and the things you learn will help you.
The more you experience inner beauty and peace, and the more you discover how it enriches your life, the more you’ll want to experience it. In this way, beauty and peace perpetuate themselves.
More About Living from the Soul
I’ll be sharing more about this inner process. It’s what I write about in my upcoming book, ‘The Art of Enlightenment’. The book describes in detail how to make the transition from a mind-based approach to life to living as the full expression of our true nature, soul.
