As soul, light, our natural state of being is one of peace, the peace of pure awareness, lightness, weightlessness, seeing clearly, knowing what we need to know without having to think, being open to life, responding freely, being what we really are, allowing that which we are to come forth and express itself in the world. It’s a beautiful state of being. It´s where our power lies.
Our natural state of peace gets disturbed when we focus on something through the act of thinking. The instant we think about something – anything – our awareness becomes directed towards that thing and we move away from the soul. Thoughts seem heavy, dense. Thoughts lead to more thoughts, and because thoughts trigger emotions, they affect how we feel. In the state of thinking, we can experience many different emotions in the course of a day. It can be an emotional rollercoaster ride.
It’s important to know how this works. It’s also important to know that we can regulate this process, that we can choose what we want. That we can choose to remain at peace, or we can choose to think.
When we know that we have this choice, we don’t have to be stuck in the mind, we don’t have to spend time thinking about things that are not necessary or desirable to think about. We don’t have to be at the mercy of our emotions.
We can choose the soul, or the mind, depending on what we want.
