As soul, our true state of being is one of peace, the peace of pure awareness – no beliefs, thoughts or emotions. Simply awareness, seeing and knowing without having to think. It’s beautiful. It’s where our power lies.
Our peace gets disturbed when we focus on something specific using our mind. The instant we think about something – anything – our awareness is directed towards that thing and we move away from our natural, peaceful state. Thoughts seem heavy, dense, compared to the lightness, the weightlessness of the soul. Thoughts lead to more thoughts and because thoughts trigger emotions, they affect how we feel. From the mind, we can experience many different emotions during the course of a day.
It´s important to know how this works. It´s also important to know that we can regulate it. We can choose to remain at peace or we can choose to think.
When we know that we have this choice, we don’t have to get stuck in the mind. We don’t have to spend time thinking about things that aren’t necessary or desirable to think about. We don’t have to be at the mercy of our emotions.
We can choose between the peace of pure awareness and the thinking mind whenever we want to.
