Yesterday, I found something that I wrote when I was in Portugal in 2017.
It was summer, and I was wandering around the centre of Lisbon when I came across an old cafe – Cafe Nicola – that dates back to the 18th century. It was a place where writers, artists and others used to gather. I went inside. I wanted to experience the atmosphere of this old cafe and its writers of the past.
It was a hot day. The sun was shining, and it was nice sitting there watching the crowds of people passing by outside. Then, I wrote something. It sums up the story of my life´s journey:
“I wanted freedom from fear – complete freedom from fear in all things – that way, I could become the full expression of myself as soul, something that´s beautiful, an honour, the fulfillment of a life-long wish.” Cafe Nicola, Lisbon, 2017.
