Spiritual Enlightenment is the powerful process of opening up to Love – the Love we are, have always been and always will be.
Spiritual Enlightenment is a very beautiful process. However, Spiritual Enlightenment is also a painful and frightening process because in order to open up to Love we need to open up to the pain, fear and guilt that have bound us and denied us access to Love – to our Beauty, Peace and Power as spiritual beings.
Opening up to pain, fear and guilt means re-experiencing these emotions in the fullness and the intensity of their power, for as long as is necessary. Only when these emotions are allowed to play themselves out will they loose their power and their hold on us. Then, when the intensity and the power of this experience have subsided it is possible to look at pain, fear and guilt in the context of our lives and to see these emotions for what they really are – normal responses to external situations that have been, or continue to be difficult to deal with.
No one wants to suffer, and few people are consciously willing to move into suffering in order to release themselves from it. Once we have burnt our hand, we don’t put it back in the fire. Instead, we spend our lives protecting ourselves from the flames. The full-on experience of pain, fear and guilt is indeed a terrifying process because it breaks down the defences we have built up around ourselves, and it leaves us feeling raw and vulnerable. However, it is a necessary process if we want to open ourselves to Love.
The power of Spiritual Enlightenment is the Power of Love. As the Light of Love, Spiritual Enlightenment is also Beauty, and Clarity. And as Peace, which is the total absence of thought, Spiritual Enlightenment is Knowledge.
Spiritual Enlightenment comes in its own time and its own way. Spiritual Enlightenment comes because, at a deep level, we want it to. At a deep level, we want authenticity. We want alignment with our True Self; we want Wholeness, Truth, Freedom, Peace – we want Love.
Spiritual Enlightenment will come when you want Love, when you are ready for Love and when you are willing to go through fire, for Love.
Are you ready and willing?
